What the trademark means
A trademark signifies something proprietary — something that belongs to you because you created it. SmileUp™ is trademarked not because of the veneers themselves, but because of the complete system surrounding them. When you combine the 18-Point Diagnostics, the 3S Framework, the Preview process, the in-house ceramist lab, and the Three-Pillar philosophy — you arrive at something uniquely OSD. Any clinic can source composite or ceramic. No clinic can replicate the system.
This distinction is the single most important thing any vendor, content creator, or treatment consultant must understand before communicating SmileUp™ to anyone.

The 18-Point Smile Analysis Framework
Most smile assessments focus only on teeth. The 18-Point Framework ensures OSD evaluates context, impact, and craft — in that order. The framework was not invented from scratch. On 13 January, four OSD dentists locked themselves in a room for nine hours to distil decades of collective clinical experience into a single diagnostic system. What emerged was not a new idea. It was a purification of everything they already knew.
- 01 Incisor Edge Position & Display — How front teeth show when relaxed and smiling. Too much? Too little? Worn edges?
- 02 Gingival Display — How much gum shows at rest and when genuinely smiling. Gummy smile or low lip line?
- 03 Lip Dynamics — How lips move and settle when framing the smile. Mobility, symmetry, range.
- 04 Facial Proportions — How the smile relates to facial features as a whole. Balanced thirds?
- 05 Facial Flow & Midline — Natural midline alignment, facial symmetry, any cant in the smile line.
- 06 12 O'Clock Analysis — How teeth appear when someone looks directly at you. Balanced? Asymmetric?
- 07 Smile Curve — The arc teeth create against the lower lip. Consonant, flat, or reverse?
- 08 Buccal Corridor — The shadowed spaces at the corners of your smile. Too dark or too wide?
- 09 Crowding & Alignment — How teeth sit relative to each other. Crowding, spacing, rotations.
- 10 Gingival Contour, Zenith & Colour — The architecture and tone of gums. Healthy? Uneven zeniths? Recession?
- 11 Papilla Height & Volume — The small gum triangles between each tooth. Full? Blunted? Black triangles?
- 12 Embrasure Spaces — Triangular gaps where teeth meet at the edges. Balanced? Open? Closed?
- 13 Line Angles — Where edges and surfaces transition. Natural? Rounded? Sharp?
- 14 Long Axis — The direction each tooth tilts. Parallel? Mesial tilt? Distal tilt?
- 15 Surface Texture — Natural texture that catches light. Smooth? Worn?
- 16 Colour & Translucency — How colour varies naturally across each tooth. Match? Discoloured? Opaque?
- 17 Tooth Proportions & Shape — Size and form of individual teeth. Golden proportion? Centrals dominant?
- 18 Biomechanical Considerations — Because beautiful teeth need to work beautifully too. Occlusion, edge loading, deep bite.
The 3S Framework
Diagnose first, prescribe second. Many clinics sell veneers as the solution before understanding the problem. The 3S Framework ensures OSD addresses concerns in the right sequence — and reveals when veneers are not actually needed at all.
SmileUp Preview
Most clinics show digital mock-ups on a screen. OSD puts a physical trial smile in the patient's mouth and sends them home with it. The Preview is OSD's commitment to certainty. Veneers are irreversible — once teeth are prepared, there is no going back. The Preview removes that pressure entirely.

- 2 Fabricate Temporary VeneersPhysical trial veneers are fabricated — not a render, not a simulation. A real, wearable smile.
- 3 Place (Reversible)Trial veneers are placed without altering natural teeth. Completely reversible at this stage.
- 4 Live With ItThe patient wears the trial smile for 24–48 hours in real life — eating, talking, smiling, going to work.
- 5 Gather FeedbackThe patient shows family, friends, and colleagues. People who know their face give the most useful reactions.
- 6 RefineAdjustments are made based on feedback. Shade, shape, length — anything can be changed before the permanent work begins.
- 7 Proceed or Don'tCompletely reversible until the patient is certain. If they change their mind entirely, nothing has been done to their teeth.
The in-house ceramist
If veneers are your craft, you cannot outsource your craft. Most clinics send impressions to external labs — often overseas. The veneers return after a delay, and if something is not right, the cycle repeats with compounding miscommunication at each pass.
